As part of the “Campaign for the protection of endangered monuments”, the Commission prepared, designed and printed promotional material consisting of:

  • 230 exhibition panels showing endangered national monuments and other properties designated as national monuments by decision of the Commission

  • three periodical catalogues with basic details of the work of the Commission, national monuments and endangered monuments identified by decision of the Commission (2500 copies)

  • more than 2000 CDs/video presentations on national monuments and endangered monuments identified by decision of the Commissi

  • more than 6000 postcards with examples of endangered national monuments.

Another feature of the campaign for the protection of the endangered heritage, entitled “Cultural Memory – a Vanishing Treasure,” took the form of a number of exhibitions consisting of a video presentation and exhibition panels of national monuments and endangered monuments with photographs and basic details of each monument.  Thus far the exhibition has been mounted in the World Bank headquarters in Washington, Barcelona, Istanbul, Barcelona, Belgrade, Rome... In cooperation with local partners from 2011 to 2016, the Commission organized the setting up of the exhibition in all municipalities of the Una-Sana Canton, Banovici, Kalesija, Lukavac, Gracanica, Gradacac, Bijeljina, Trebinje, Stolac, Jablanica, Konjic, Blagaj, Tomislavgrad , Prijedor, Novi Grad, Mrkonjic Grad, Foca, Gorazde, Visegrad, Travnik, Novi Travnik, Zenica, Doboj, Bugojno and Tesanj. During the preparation and organization of traveling exhibitions, the Commission has established a very good cooperation with cantonal relevant institutions for the protection of heritage (institutions, etc.) as well as cultural institutions (museums, galleries, cultural centers, etc.), and local and non-governmental organizations. In the period 2011-2015, Commission organized over 40 exhibitions across the country.

In November 2007 the Commission took part in the exhibition “Cultural Monuments – Victims of People’s Hatred,” with scenes of destroyed and reconstructed monuments in Bosnia and Herzegovina.  The exhibition was mounted in St Petersburg and several other cities in Russia.

On the occasion of the 27th session of the Congress of Local and Regional Authorities of the Council of Europe from 14 to 16 October 2014, the Commission has organized an exhibition of posters "World Heritage in Bosnia and Herzegovina" at the Council of Europe in Strasbourg.

With these activities, the Commission wishes to inform the public about cultural and historical values ​​of Bosnia and Herzegovina. Protection of cultural heritage is a significant method of preserving a stable society and wealth of BiH diversity. Organizing exhibitions throughout the country is also a call to all relevant institutions, organizations and citizens in Bosnia and Herzegovina to cooperate and invest in the rehabilitation of damaged and endangered monuments to be able to preserve them for future generations.

The Commission is open for cooperation in raising public awareness by organizing exhibitions and other forms of presentation of national monuments. All those interested in this kind of cooperation can contact the Secretariat of the Commission.
