The professional and administrative affairs of the Commission are conducted by the Commission’s Secretariat, which consists of qualified, competent staff dealing with the archaeological heritage, architectural heritage, architectural heritage ensembles and cultural landscapes, movable heritage, legal affairs, financial affairs and technical coordination.  The Secretariat is managed and organized by an executive officer.

Executive official - Mirzah Fočo (07.12.1965) architect - conservator

Master of technical sciences (master's degree acquired at the Faculty of Architecture, University of Sarajevo, in 2012). He graduated from the same university in 1991. He has been involved in the protection of cultural heritage for more than 20 years, and for the past seven years he performed a duty of the assistant executive officer for the heritage with the Commission to Preserve National Monuments, the state institution which was in 2010 awarded the European Union prize for Cultural Heritage / Europa Nostra, for its commitment to work. He is a student of the prestigious US State Department - International Visitor Leadership Program. He attended many UNESCO specialized courses for preservation and restoration of cultural property, the courses organized by Blue Shield, CHwB - Sweden, University of Trieste, the Ministry of Culture of the Republic of Italy, the Ministry of Culture of Egypt, the Government of Turkey, SPAB - England, the Council of Europe, and so on. He was a member of the team for making nomination documents and management plans for cultural properties nominated for inscription on the UNESCO World Heritage List. He worked on numerous projects for preservation and restoration of cultural heritage, and is the author of many technical papers and publications written on a theme of physical protection and management of the property. He is a regional expert on cultural heritage with the Council of Europe and regional cooperation RCCTFCS
